Plan layout, install and prepare wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control equipment for new or modified electrical construction works based on blueprints, sketches, and building plans. Prepares sketches to show location of wiring and equipment. Connect wires to lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, transformers, power equipment and other electrical equipment or systems. Install control and electrical distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels. Test electrical system for continuity of circuits in electrical wiring to equipment or fixtures using texting devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of system. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to detect hazards and defects. Repair and correct faulty equipment or electrical systems. Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment.
